1. Write a one sentence summary of the novel.
2. expand the summary to a paragraph with the major plot points.
3. Write a page summary sheet for each of your major characters.
4. Write a page summary of your novel with the characters in mind.
5. Write a page description of each major character and a half page character of each minor character.
6. Expand the 1 page synopsis into a 4 page synopsis, taking into account the new character knowledge. This is where the logic of the novel is given a first approximation.
7. Expand the summary and description of the character into a full character chart, including the high level story of the character throughout the novel.
8. Make a list of each scene of the novel.
9. Write the first draft.
